Cornerstone Community Financial PRIVACY NOTICE

Cornerstone Community Financial is owned by its members and run by a board of directors elected by its members. We want you to know that the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information is a top priority. We are required by law to provide you with this notice in order to inform and explain to you how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal financial information. Information We Collect About You

We collect information about you from the following sources:

  • Membership and other applications for products and services. We obtain information such as but not limited to your name, address, social security number, employer, income, and account information at other financial institutions.
  • Companies we work with to provide you with products and services. We obtain information such as account balances, payment histories, parties to transactions, and credit card usage.
  • Consumer reporting agencies. We obtain information related to your creditworthiness and credit history.

Information About You We Share

We may disclose all of the information we collect about you as permitted or required by law. The disclosure of this information typically includes processing transactions on your behalf, as you authorize to provide you with a product or service, to conduct the operations of this credit union, and to protect the security of your and our financial records.

In order to provide you with certain products and services we may disclose all of the information we collect as described above to organizations that provide these products or services to you on our behalf or we jointly market these products and services to you. If we disclose your information to one of these organizations we protect your confidentiality by doing business with companies that agree to use your information only for the purposes we have disclosed it to them. Under no circumstances are these organizations ever authorized by us to charge your accounts or provided with your account number.

In the event that you are no longer a member of this credit union we will not share any information we have collected about you, except as permitted or authorized by law.

How We Protect Your Information

Under no circumstances do we provide any information we collect about you to telemarketers or other third parties that do not act on your behalf as a member of this credit union. We maintain the confidentiality of the personal financial information we obtain from users of our ATMs.

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to only those employees, members of our Board of Directors and committee members who have a specific business purpose for accessing and utilizing this information. Our employees, Board of Directors, and other committee members are required to maintain confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards as part of a risk management system that complies with federal regulations to protect against anticipated threats or hazards to the security of your information and to protect against unauthorized access and use of that information.

If you discover inaccurate records related to any of your transactions with the credit union, or believe an unauthorized person has accessed your account or obtained an access number such as your ATM, Phone Access 24 or Net Access 24 PIN, contact us immediately so that we may take appropriate action.

 


 

Our Online Guarantee

Accessing your accounts online shouldn’t be an intimidating or worrisome experience. We want you to feel safe and secure when you use our online services. Rest assured protecting your accounts is something we take seriously.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your personal identification and access information, account numbers and passwords and other account data. CCF employees will not ask for your password, nor do we keep these on file.

Cornerstone Community Financial will not be responsible for member errors or negligent use of the service, including:

  • Misuse of the service or member errors while entering information.
  • Failure to maintain confidentiality of or sharing of passwords and/or access information leading to unauthorized access to accounts. This includes storing passwords on a device that may be collected or re-transmitted (ie, with “spyware”). 
  • Failure to log out when completing an online session, leaving a computer unattended during online session, or storing identification or password information in a computer. 
  • Neglecting to report known unauthorized account access to CCF immediately.
